Hoya R72 Infrared 77 mm

Unlock a world of ethereal, high-contrast black-and-white imagery with the Hoya R72 Infrared filter. Designed for both digital cameras converted for infrared use and traditional infrared film, this filter blocks visible light while transmitting the infrared spectrum, allowing you to capture dramatic landscapes, dreamlike portraits, and surreal architecture with glowing foliage and deep, dramatic skies. The 77 mm thread size fits a wide range of popular lenses, making it a versatile addition to any photographer’s kit.

- Blocks all visible light below 720 nm, passing only infrared wavelengths

- Creates the classic infrared effect: white foliage, dark skies, and high contrast

- Ideal for converted digital cameras or film cameras loaded with infrared-sensitive film

- Multi-coated glass reduces reflections and flare for sharper, clearer images

- Thin, lightweight aluminium filter ring minimises vignetting on wide-angle lenses

- Fits lenses with a 77 mm front filter thread – check your lens cap or barrel for size

- Compatible with both manual and autofocus lenses (infrared focus shift may require adjustment)

- Simple to use: mount on lens, compose, and adjust exposure – typically 2–4 stops slower than visible-light metering

Add the Hoya R72 to your camera bag and transform ordinary scenes into extraordinary infrared studies, perfect for fine art, travel, and creative experimentation.
